
Pouring technique on glass vases
Flowers in a pretty vase are always a good idea to lighten up your house. And how fun is it when you can decorate the vase in your style. In this step-by-step plan we will show you how you can upcycle your glass vase using the pouring technique.
What you need
- Talens Art Creation Glass & Porcelain opaque
- Amsterdam pouring medium
- Glass vases
- Alcohol
- Plastic cups
- Stir sticks
- Water
- Something to cover your table
- Wooden block
Before you start, clean the glass vases using alcohol to make them grease free. Cover your table to protect it from staining.

Step 1
This is what you will need.

Step 2
Mix the various colors of paint with 2 parts paint, 1 part pouring medium, 1 part water and stir well. The paint must as thin as yogurt. If the paint is too thin, it will run off the glass too quickly.

Step 3
Place the vases upside down on the stand or on a wooden block so that the bottom of the vase does not touch the table. When all the colors are mixed well, divide the paint over smaller pots. Now pour the paint color by color over the vase and repeat this if necessary.

Step 4
Pour the paint along the sides. Be careful not to mix the colors. Remove too much paint with kitchen paper.

Step 5
Let everything dry well for at least 2 days before removing the vase from the stand. Do not put the painted vase in the dishwasher or leave it in water. For decorational purposes only!

Step 6
The vases are suitable for placing a candle or a beautiful bunch of tulips. Enjoy!
