Premiere of the film ‘The Peasants’ at the Toronto International Film Festival
The world premiere for ‘The Peasants’, the new movie from the makers of ‘Loving Vincent’ will take place at the Toronto International Film Festival. The latest movie from DK Welchman and Hugh Welchman was selected to screen in the Special Presentations Section. ‘The Peasants’ is based on a Nobel prize-winning novel by Wladyslaw Reymont and is produced using Cobra oil paints in the same painting animation technique used in the studio’s 2017 production ‘Loving Vincent’. This film about the life of Vincent van Gogh won the hearts of fans around the world and received several awards and nominations, was seen in cinemas by 6 million people around the world and grossed more than $42 million at the global box office.

Collaboration with The Cultural Heritage Agency
The Cultural Heritage Agency (RCE) is part of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. They are currently working on a project called "Heritage Twentieth Century" for which they benefit from the archives of Royal Talens for their historical and scientific research.

Royal Talens is proud to announce a colorful collaboration with Pantone. The all-new Talens | Pantone collection consists of high-quality markers, marker inks and art pads. These products are all based on the Pantone Matching System. The Talens | Pantone collection was first revealed at Creativeworld, Frankfurt. All products will be available for sale in Summer 2023.

The Rembrandt Experience
The Rembrandt Experience was the prize of our painting contest during the Year of Rembrandt in 2019. After three years of Covid restrictions, the event could finally take place in 2022. The Year of Rembrandt was back in 2019, since it had been 350 years since the death of Rembrandt, the famous Dutch painter. In the same year, the professional paint brand Rembrandt celebrated its 120th anniversary. Throughout the year 2019, Royal Talens and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam celebrated the Year of Rembrandt together, organising various activities and events to celebrate the Dutch artist.

During this period, the museum will be showcasing works by Jan Cremer, Jörg Remé, Edwin Hagendoorn, René Jansen, Edwin Aafjes, Dinie Boogaart and Ad Merx, including paint swatches and posters from Royal Talens throughout the years.

Bruynzeel Pencils featured in Dutch Elections
Today is the day we vote for our national Parliamentary election! Did you know that the Dutch people use red Bruynzeel pencils to indicate their vote in the Netherlands? These red pencils are often called “voting pencils” and are used because their vibrant colour is hard to erase and makes it easier for the votes to be counted. Ballots that are marked with a different colour are invalid and will not be counted.
